Hyattsville Mennonite Church (HMC) has become a congregation whose members are settled, have raised families, and are now envisioning retirement in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Accordingly, we are realizing the need to plan and provide for end-of-life arrangements for former and present members, associates, and their families.

The design of the columbarium and memorial garden seeks to include the end-of-life arrangements as part of the continuing life of the congregation, rather than being remote from it. The image above shows the location and design that was recently approved by the congregation (a series of slides showing more details of the design and construction is available at the bottom of this page).

Our capital fund drive seeks to raise $50,000 so that we can commit to the construction of our columbarium and memorial garden. You can send your tax-deductible gifts to the church at:
