Life After Release (LAR) is a Black women-based and formerly incarcerated-led organization in the DC-Maryland-Virginia metro area working to to address prison conditions and to build a hopeful future after release.

LAR started in 2017 and has grown to include multiple programs, including mutual aid efforts and the Court Watch program, both of which HMC is directly supporting and involved with.
