For two weeks each year, Hyattsville Mennonite Church, in collaboration with Community Crisis Services, Inc (CCSI) becomes a pop up homeless shelter, providing a safe place to sleep and three meals each day for women, men and families who are experiencing homelessness.
All of the participants in this program are placed through the CCSI Homeless Hotline. If you are in need of shelter and assistance, contact the Homeless Hotline: 1-888-731-0999.
CCSI, through its rotating emergency shelter program, provides physical overnight facilities for those in need that rotate between 50 host congregations (with 40 additional congregations lending further assistance) throughout Prince George’s County, as well as transportation services, employment assistance, general medical and mental health services, and intensive case management to help people assess their needs effectively. With the help of more than 8,000 volunteers each year, this program shelters 30 -50 persons, many of them families, each night throughout the entire year.
