PG Plaza Day Center

The PG Plaza Day Center “is a day time shelter for homeless, near homeless and those in economic need.  The Day Center offers a place to be out of the cold (or heat), food, showers and laundry services”. Toiletries, socks, t-shirts, underwear, counseling, social services support, legal services, and spiritual support are also available. The Day Center is run by Congregations United for Compassion and Empowerment (CUCE), a non-profit organization serving the homeless and those in economic need in Prince George’s County Hyattsville area.

As the COVID-19 pandemic health emergency is still in effect, showers and laundry must be scheduled in advance, there is no gathering indoors (an outdoor tent and seating is provided) and all meals are currently bagged lunches. The hope is to resume indoor activities and hot lunches in September 2021.

Those in need can visit the Day Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at:

University Christian Church
6800 Adelphi Rd.
Hyattsville, MD 20782
